The two-time Paralympic snowboard gold medalist, 25, said on Thursday that one of her prostheses broke shortly before she plans to travel to the Paralympic World Championships in Lillehammer, Norway.
“The not so glamorous parts of being an amputee,” she captioned a video of herself venting in her car, screaming to the sounds of “High Enough” by K.Flay.
Brenna Huckaby, who had her right leg amputated at the age of 14 due to a cancer diagnosis, previously won gold in snowboard cross and slalom at the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics. She won her first world championship in 2015, taking gold in snowboard cross, and then finished first in the same competition and in slope slalom in 2017.
