Rhode Island motorcycle accident victim given the gift of runner blade

Cucino D’Allesandro lost her leg in a motorcycle accident this past summer.

According to the group, D’Allesandro was riding on the back of her husband’s motorcycle when they were hit by a car driven by someone who was texting while driving.

“Things have been extremely challenging since the accident. I’m trying not to focus on me having a disability. I’m Just trying to live my normal life,” she said.

The donation was presented by Born to Run Foundation founder Noelle Lambert and foundation board member Femita Ayanbeku, both amputees and Paralympic athletes.

Lambert, a former Division I college athlete who played lacrosse at UMass Lowell, established the foundation to help amputees obtain specialized athletic prosthetic devices so that they can live fulfilling lives.
